I recently posted about maximising my savings rate and a popular suggestion was taking your own lunch to work.
I’m a fan of this, just need to be more consistent

I think the trick is finding a meal you can prepare at the start of the week, is reasonably healthy and you don’t mind eating it regularly.

For me, this is a Mexican dish that consists of beef or chicken mince, Heniz Mexican beans and white or brown rice. I also chuck in either frozen veggies or salad to go with it.

Can get through a week on about $15 worth of food.

What’s your go-to work lunch prep?

Love that idea! I’m usually taking a frozen meal. A new Woolies and Coles as opened near me and they seam to be struggling to sell all their stock so the Smokebrothers meals (fresh) have been on special for $3-$4 each instead of $9-$12 so that has been my lunches recently. Get a bit of variety too.

Frozen meals are great for the variety! I’m jealous of the price for the fresh meals but!!

Oh it’s so good. By 5pm everything is so much cheaper and I have a deep freeze.
